Introduction. Multiquartz is a range of seamless flooring using natural quartz as an aggregate. By specifying the particular combination of aggregate and resin, the flooring can be adapted for most applications. Four permutations are described separately below. They give an indication of the range although any amalgamation of six sizes of quartz is possible. They are:

Description. This seamless flooring comprises a special blend of several sizes of quartz, strengthened with black silicon carbide, with a high quality, transparent, solvent-free epoxy binder, finished with an epoxy top coat.
Depth. 4-6 mm
Applications. A high performance floor finish for commercial use and for all areas where resistance to heavy wear is required to be combined with decorative qualities.
Appearance. Available in ten basic colour mixes, with any colour option on request.
Applications. Particularly suitable for the food preparation, pharmaceutical and catering industries.
Description. Fine grades of quartz are combined with resin to give a heavy industrial screed providing a seamless, durable, hygienic, slip resistant surface. Matching skirting and coving are available. It is resistant to most chemicals and provides excellent wear resistance.
Depth. 4-6 mm.
Appearance. Available in 60 basic shades, with any colour available on request.
Applications. Ideal for large floor areas where a decorative floor with good wear resistance is required, such as car showrooms, theatre foyers, entrances to public buildings, etc. Driveways, patios and paths can be surfaced, particularly with natural non-dyed aggregates.
Description. Consists of large quartz granules bound with appropriate resins to give a highly decorative flooring for large internal and external areas. Natural aggregates such as gravels and crushed stone can be used on outside areas.
Depth. 10 mm.
Appearance. Available in 60 basic shades, with any colour available on request.
Applications. Ideal for such applications as swimming pool surrounds, where slip resistance qualities are required and can be completely sealed for hygienic purposes.
Description. Multiquartz 3 consists of medium sized quartz granules sealed in epoxy resin. It offers excellent slip resistance properties.
Depth. 6-8mm.
Appearance. Available in 60 basic shades, with any colour available on request.
Mechanics. The compressive strength of Multiquartz flooring varies according to system e.g. a sealed Project floor can be adjusted from 35 N/mm2 to 60 N/mm2 after 7 days according to type of resins and fillers used. Single systems unsealed have a compressive strength of 23 N/mm2 single systems sealed have a compresssive strength in excess of 23 N/mm2 depending on resins and fillers used.
Fire. Classified as a Class 2 surface "not easily combustible" when tested to NFN 3883.
Chemical resistance. Full information from the company.
Heat resistance. Once cured, performs satisfactorily at temperatures from - 40°C to + 80°C and briefly at +100°C.
Colour fastness. Generally excellent although some yellowing is inevitable after several years. However, a resin uv filter can be applied when installed and at regular intervals to reduce the possibility of yellowing, especially on light coloured floors.
Laying. A laying service is available.
Curing time. At 20°C, flooring takes foot traffic after 24 hours, has load bearing capacity after 3 days, and is fully cured after 7 days.
All Multiquartz flooring requires very little maintenance beyond regular sweeping and washing when needed with an approved detergent, available from SurTech with cleaning instructions. Repairs are unlikely to be needed but can be effected by patching with the original materials.
